Lots of layers to this brilliant satire

Alex is not a happy man and he wants to escape, from his living conditions, his, job, his crappy history. He does via a google glass discharge and gets thrown into another dimension.
In this new dimension everyone wears google glass and what this means is the world is a very different place because you have a record of all your interactions so it makes deceit much more difficult.
The book then goes on to say how this spreads out to change lots of areas of life, dating, employment, politics and justice but this is not universally popular especially amongst the elite and so Alex becomes embroiled in opposing their machinations. He finds friends to help and he has help of his own. You also find out some bits of Alex’s past that has made him such a tortured soul.
All of this happens with a sense of humour and snark.
